Botulinum toxin

Botulinum toxin

Procedures using Botulinum toxin are among the most popular in aesthetic medicine. Botulinum toxin has been known for years and is used not only in the fight against wrinkles. If you are looking for a clinic that will perform the procedure in a professional and perfect way, choose the Face Sculpting Academy Botulinum toxin in Warsaw (“Akademia Rzeźbienia Twarzy”)!

Botulinum toxin, blocks nerve-muscle transmitters, weakening muscle contractions. Medicine has been using Botulinum toxin long before it became a permanent fixture in aesthetic medicine clinics. It is applied, among other things, in ophthalmology and neurology. As often happens, it was accidentally noticed that Botulinum toxin, in addition to its therapeutic effect, has „side effects”: it reduces the visibility of wrinkles and allows modification of the effects of skin aging.

How does Botulinum toxin work in aesthetic medicine? Where do we use Botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin, is used in facial rejuvenation procedures. This includes getting rid of facial expression wrinkles, crow’s feet, wrinkles caused by smoking, forehead wrinkles, and the furrows between the eyebrows, including the so-called „frown lines.” However, this is not the only application of Botulinum toxin in aesthetic medicine clinics.

Botulinum toxin can also help lift sagging eyelids, drooping corners of the mouth, lower the hooked-up end of the nose, narrow the nostrils, or correct the „gummy smile” that undermines the confidence of many women and men alike. Botulinum toxin injections can also be applied on the décolleté and neck to reduce wrinkles and on the jawline to sharpen its edge.

Interestingly, Botulinum toxin is also used in the treatment of hyperhidrosis. The preparation is injected into the armpits, hands, feet, or other areas reported by the patient as having excessive sweating. As a result, the activity of nerves connected to external secretion glands is inhibited, and sweat is not secreted. For many patients, this is a procedure that significantly improves daily comfort.

Transformation of our patient

A 40-year-old patient underwent the following procedures: facial volumetrics, Hyaluronic Acid was injected into the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and the area under the eyes. The hollows under the eyes were eliminated with hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic Acid also shaped the eyebrow area. Botulinum toxin was applied to the forehead, crow's feet, frown lines, and
gummy smile. The overall result was a rejuvenated face. The reduction of nasolabial folds and under-eye hollows significantly took years off the patient.
